Three illlustrations for Roald Dahl's short story, The Land Lady. I thought I'd dry my hand at illustrating in Photoshop, and really enjoyed it! The story is about a young man who stays at a bed and breakfast, run by a land lady with questionable intentions...

I'm working on a movie poster for the Landlady in school and I happened to come across your website. The second picture doesn't have the Bed and Breakfast sign and what about the chrysanthemums? Also, in the story the room wasn't all lit up. It was the street lamp that cast a glow into the room. I like how you're looking at the scene at a different view, but in the story the details of the appearance of the room was the most important. Billy was drawn to the coziness of the room.
Billy has weird face expressions in the pictures. I think I might be saying too too much. I guess, it's the artist choice to make it the way she or he wants.
